Message from Qld Health Immunisation Program:
“Supply constraints of Shingrix vaccine under the National Immunisation Program continues. The The Queensland Health Immunisation Program has now exhausted Queensland’s current vaccine supply and is awaiting our next allocation. We are very pleased to see strong consumer demand for Shingrix vaccination is continuing into 2024. Continued strong demand is a good indicator of consumer confidence in vaccination for protection from Shingles, however, we appreciate the inability to fill vaccine orders remains a source of frustration for some primary care providers”

MyMedicare registrations open!

Patients of One Care Family Doctors can now register to the practice with MyMedicare!

What is MyMedicare?

MyMedicare is an optional and free registration service that allows you to notify your general practice that you have selected them as your regular care team. Upon registration, the government provides additional funding to your selected practice to help them provide the care you need.

As a MyMedicare patient, you will have access to a range of benefits such as greater continuity of care with your registered practice, longer Medicare Benefit Scheme (MBS) funded telehealth consultations with your GP, and triple bulk billing incentive for longer MBS telehealth consultations for children under 16, pensioners and concession card holders starting from November 1, 2023.

From August 2024, MyMedicare patients living in a residential aged care home will receive more regular visits from their GP and better care planning. From mid-2024, patients who frequently visit the hospital will have access to more appropriate care in general practice.

If you choose not to register in MyMedicare, you’ll still be able to access the same quality of care from your healthcare providers.

How to register

There are multiple ways you can register with One Care Family Doctors in MyMedicare:

Registering with MyMedicare does not limit your access to healthcare services from other practices and providers. Your registered practice will be linked to the longer MBS telehealth items, new aged care and frequent hospital users incentives, and Chronic Disease Management items from November 2024. 

By registering with MyMedicare, your chosen practice and GP will be displayed on your My Health Record. This ensures that all health professionals, including those at public hospitals, have access to your regular care information and know who to contact for further information.

 

Changing preferred practices or GPs

MyMedicare does not tie you to a particular healthcare provider. You can change your preferred GP within your registered practice at any time. You can also register with a different practice if you meet the eligibility requirements and the practice is also registered.
